Murmurhouse is built so that your recordings and transcripts stay with you. This page explains the little information that is processed and why.
Who is responsible

Your audio, video and transcripts
Transcription runs entirely in your browser, on your device. Files you open, microphone recordings and the transcripts made from them are processed and stored only there. We never receive them. Recent transcripts (text only) are kept in your browser’s own storage; you can delete them in the app (“Clear all”) or by clearing your browser’s site data.
The speech model download
The first time you transcribe, your browser downloads the open-source Whisper speech model from Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc.) and keeps it for later and offline use. Like any website, Hugging Face receives technical data such as your IP address for this download. No audio or text is sent to it.
Microphone
Murmurhouse asks for microphone access only when you press “Record”. The recording stays on your device and is transcribed there.
Launch list
If you ask to be told when Pro launches, we store your email address and the date you signed up, send you one confirmation, and email you once on launch day. After that email we delete the address. The legal basis is your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Reply “remove” to our email, or write to hello@murmurhouseapp.com, to be taken off the list at any time.
Purchases
Pro is not on sale yet. When it is, it will be sold through Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC) as merchant of record, and this policy will be updated before then.
Emails from us are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.). Emails you send to hello@murmurhouseapp.com are received through Cloudflare Email Routing and read by us, with help from our support inbox provider AgentMail. These providers process your email address and message only to deliver and handle your email.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Like every web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address when your browser requests a page, to deliver it securely. We do not use these logs to identify you.
No tracking
We use no analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or third-party fonts. Fonts are served from our own site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of the personal data we hold about you (in practice, launch-list sign-ups and emails), and object to its processing. Email hello@murmurhouseapp.com. You can also complain to the Luxembourg data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.public.lu).
